STURTEVANT — Ralph Malicki took his oath of office Monday to officially assume the role of Racine County Executive.
Racine County District Attorney Tricia Hanson administered the oath in a ceremony at the Ives Grove Office Complex, 14200 Washington Ave., the county announced Monday.
Malicki won the Dec. 19 special election with 8,930 votes. His competitor, Wendy Christensen, received 2,727 votes.
He will finish the term of former Racine County Executive Jonathan Delagrave, who passed away in June. The term ends in 2027.
Malicki said he is honored to serve as county executive and to continue working on behalf of county residents.
“Together, we will build on the successes of the past while ensuring a bright future for everyone in Racine County,” he said.
