RACINE — A 44-year-old man died Friday night after being struck by a vehicle on North Memorial Drive, according to the Racine Police Department.
Around 6:31 p.m., officers found the man, later identified as Dwayne Carr, lying by the curb between two parked vehicles on the 600 block of North Memorial Drive, according to RPD Public Information Officer Sgt. Kristi Wilcox.
The man was taken to a hospital where he later died from his injuries, Wilcox said.
Police reportedly received a call from a 19-year-old woman who said she’d hit someone in that area and she was interviewed at the police station. According to Wilcox, the woman is cooperating with the investigation and police are waiting for the results of toxicology tests before recommending charges to the District Attorney’s Office.
