Thank You Mayor Antaramian and Alderman Haugaard
As Mayor Antaramian nears the end of his twenty-four years of leadership, I want to thank him for being a mayor who takes the time to listen.
After spending all of my adult years as a Kenosha south-sider, 10 years ago I moved into senior housing on the north side. Over the past decade I have not been shy about sharing my thoughts and views not only with the mayor, but also with First District Alderman Eric Haugaard, whose own 22 years of service closely rivals the mayor’s.
When lake erosion along Kennedy Drive threatened its permanent closure, the city responded to public sentiment and found the money to reinforce the lake shore instead. Later came a paved walking and bike path through Pennoyer Park extending all the way to the small boat harbors. A new roof for the band shell. Flashing lights and wheelchair accessible crossings at the entrances to Pennoyer Park.

These are just the changes and improvements I can see from my home, but there are countless others throughout our city that these gentlemen and the aldermen from all the other districts have made under John Antaramian’s leadership. It is a joy to see the people enjoying all that our parks have to offer. We owe a great deal to all of our representatives.
Thank you, mayor, for your years of service to Kenosha. Thank you Ald.Haugaard for your continued good works. All the best to both of you in the years to come.
